Oriental Bay Owl

Now called the Ceylon Bay Owl (Phodilus assimilis), this is one of the rarest birds that's found in India. There are no fewer than 10 specimens which have been recorded from south India and this is one of them. Had to fight heavy monsoon rains and leetches to get this shot
