Bar-headed Goose

Bharatpur, Rajasthan, 27 Feb 2006

These are the world's highest-altitude migrants. They fly from their winter feeding grounds in the lowlands of India through the Himalayan range, sometimes even directly above Everest, on their way to their nesting grounds in Tibet. They can cover upto 1000 miles a day.
