BR Hills, Karnataka, 2 Ocr 2006 Found this young monitor lizard basking in the sun on a cold morning at the edge of BR hills. The lizard was not shy at all and was almost as curious to see us as we were to see the lizard.

Bheemeshwari, Karnataka, 24 Sep 2006 This is highly endangered squirrel, which is only found in small patches in South India and no where else in the world. In Cavery fishing camp, they are very used to people and this camp is one of the best places in the world to see this squirrel.

BR Hills, Karnataka, Aug 2006 These monkeys usually hang around the dining area at BR hills waiting for any food that the guests will throw in. Once the lunch gets over and all the guests have left, these monkeys get back to their daily activities - grooming, playing etc. On this occasion, all of them one-by-one decided to assemble on this rock and cuddle up together.
Sorry about no updates. I’ve been very busy with work and in the last month or so and in between I’ve made quite a few trips and have upgraded my equipment too. Lot of new photographs have been added to the site in the Recent section.
Stay tuned for more…

BR Hills, Karnataka, 16 Jul 2006 While driving, I suddenly found this eagle sitting on an open perch right next to the road. Though he was very close, I could not get a clear shot of him in the open. The two dark vertical lines are trees close to me, through which I could see the bird. This was the first time I’ve photographed this eagle.

BR Hills, Karnataka, 15 Jul 2006 Me and my photographer friend Sudhir were packing up our gear for the night after dinner when we hear this whistle from a nearby tree. When we investigated the noise, it turned out to be this Brown fish owl right next to the Jungle lodges camp. We unpacked our equipment again and shot this guy for few min and called it a day. This guy however, went on whistling the whole night.

Kudremukh, Karnataka, 9 Jun 2006 We found this bi-colored frog at a stream at Kudremukh. We put him on a rock and photographed him for a while. He tired to jump once, but I put him back on the stone. After that he shifted to Plan B and decided to act dead. and after 5 min he was back up again and tried to jump off. However this time I let him go as I was impressed by his brillant acting.

Araku Valley, Andhra Pradesh, 28 Apr 2005 These million year old caves spread over the Eastern ghats and occupying an area of 2 square kilometers. A must see if you visit Vizag. When I was there last year, for just few seconds, the sunlight was coming into the caves though this small hole on the top. I was very lucky to capture this shot as within seconds, the sunlight disappeared.
